Triton Central High School senior Maryrose Felling has been named the Beth Prince State Farm Athlete of the Week.
Against Oldenburg Friday during TC's Pink Out Game, Felling surpassed Samantha Dewey to become the girls basketball program’s career scoring leader.
With 1,715 points, Felling has now scored more points than any girl in Shelby County basketball history.
“I think it’s really cool,” she said after Class 2A, No. 7 Triton Central’s 63-53 win over the Twisters. “I thought (the record) was untouchable at the beginning of my senior year.”
Felling is averaging a career-high 24.8 ppg this season for the Tigers, who have won 12 straight to improve to 17-3.
