Waldron graduate Madalyn Hudnall captured the shot put title Saturday for Mount St. Joseph in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Hudnall’s best throw of 41 feet, 0.25 inches topped the field at the Centennial Fieldhouse on Mount St. Joseph’s campus. Hudnall also finished fifth in the weight throw with a best distance of 44-7.
Hudnall was named the HCAC Women’s Thrower of the Year.
Triton Central graduate Brayden Wilkins finished sixth in the 60 meters (7.05 seconds) and eighth in the 200 (23.07) for Franklin College. He also helped Franklin’s 4x200 relay team to a third-place finish (1:32.04).

Shelbyville graduate Blake Hughes was part of Franklin’s runner-up finish in the 4x400 relay (3:26.6).
Shelbyville’s Christian Powell helped Franklin to a sixth-place finish in the distance medley relay (11:30.88).
Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.
Karissa Hamilton
The Shelbyville graduate helped Kentucky produce a 5-0 performance at the John Cropp Classic in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Wildcats, playing their first home games of the season, opened with a 10-2 win Friday over Michigan State. A 5-1 victory over Dayton followed.
On Saturday, Kentucky opened the day with a 6-1 win over Michigan State. Hamilton had two doubles and a walk. Another meeting with Dayton produced a 9-0 victory. Hamilton had two more hits and drove in a run.
The Wildcats improved to 17-4 Sunday with an 8-0 win over Murray State. Hamilton drove in two runs.
Kylee Edwards
The Shelbyville graduate delivered her first home run in a LSU uniform Friday in an 11-2 win over Memphis. Edwards also had a walk and scored two runs.
Edwards reached base in all four of the Tigers’ wins in the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She had a double Friday in a 3-1 win over Nicholls.
On Saturday, LSU defeated Iowa, 5-3, and Memphis, 7-0.
Edwards had three hits on Feb. 24 in LSU’s 9-3 win at McNeese.
The Tigers are 17-4 and open the Southeastern Conference portion of its schedule Friday at top-ranked Tennessee.

Cheyenne Eads
The Shelbyville graduate earned her sixth and seventh wins of the season for the University of Indianapolis.
Eads fired a 3-hit shutout Friday in the No. 11 Greyhounds 7-0 win over Ferris State in Marion, Illinois. She struck out six.
She returned to the circle Saturday and earned the win in a 5-4 victory over Grand Valley State in eight innings. She allowed seven hits and struck out three to improve to 7-0 this season.
Indianapolis suffered its first loss of the season in its second game Friday, 9-1 to Parkside. The Greyhounds’ only run came on an Eads fourth-inning home run.
The Greyhounds finished 3-1 in Illinois with a 2-0 win Sunday over Purdue Northwest. Eads had a single and two walks in the win.
Indianapolis is 13-1 this season.
Brylie Couch
The Triton Central graduate made her collegiate debut Sunday for Trine in a 14-1 win over Johnson & Wales in Clermont, Florida. She pitched the final two innings and allowed three hits and one unearned run.
Couch also had a two-run double in the win.
On Monday, Couch delivered a pinch-hit double that scored a run in a 4-2 victory over Illinois College.
Trine is 6-0 this season.

Lillian Fillippinie
The Triton Central graduate had a successful collegiate debut Saturday for Muskingum in a 9-0 win at Southern Virginia. She pitched the final two innings, allowing three hits and no run while striking out two.
Muskingum is off to a 4-0 start this season.

Bryce Haney
The Triton Central graduate earned his first collegiate win Saturday for Wabash in a 5-3 victory over Monmouth College at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette, Indiana.
Haney tossed four scoreless innings of relief and allowed four hits and a walk while striking out six.
Wabash is 3-2 this season.
Dalton Jones
The Shelbyville graduate blasted his first two collegiate home runs for Olney Central College in a pair of losses in Kansas City.
On Friday, Jones had two hits, including a two-run home run, in Olney’s 9-8 loss to Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa.
The freshman added a second home run Saturday and drove in three runs in a 10-9 loss to NOC-Tonkawa.
Olney is 5-7 this season.

Charlie Rife
The Shelbyville graduate had a walk in two at bats on Feb. 24 in Bellarmine’s 8-3 loss at the University of Tennessee. The game was 1-0 until the seventh inning when the Volunteers scored seven runs.
The Knights’ three runs came in the top of the ninth inning.
Kaleb Murphy
The Triton Central graduate pitched two innings on Feb. 24 for Bethel College in an 8-4 loss at Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida.
Murphy allowed one hit and one unearned run in a relief appearance.
The Pilots are 2-7.

Avram Rund
The Triton Central graduate won two tennis matches for Franklin College Saturday in a 5-2 victory at Principia in St. Louis, Missouri.
Rund teamed with Luke Morris to defeat Ethan Hoff and Sebastian Castro, 6-3, at No. 3 doubles.
Rund then defeated Castro, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.
Franklin is 5-6.

Olivia Faust
Marian followed its Crossroads League regular season championship with a postseason tournament title Monday after a 72-65 win over St. Francis (Ind.).
The Knights reached the championship game with an 102-54 win over Grace College on Feb. 24 and an 87-45 win over Indiana Wesleyan on Friday.
Faust, a Triton Central graduate, had nine points, three rebounds and two assists in the win over Grace and seven points and two rebounds in the semifinal round win over the Wildcats.
In the championship game, Faust did not score but had one rebound, three assists, one steal and one block.
The Knights are 29-2 this season.


Tenleigh Phelps and Lizzie Graham
IU South Bend produced postseason tournament wins over Viterbo (71-65) and St. Ambrose (74-65) to advance to the championship game of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
Phelps, a Triton Central graduate who was named All-CCAC for the third consecutive season, had a game-high 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists against Viterbo and followed that with 25 points, 14 rebounds and two steals in the win over St. Ambrose.
Top seed Olivet Nazarene defeated IU South Bend Saturday, 81-80 in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Phelps finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
The Titans are 23-8 this season.
Graham, a Triton Central graduate, was named to the conference’s All-Academic Team.

Bella Larrison
The Waldron graduate had four points, 10 rebounds and three assists Friday in Anderson’s 81-65 loss to Franklin College in the semifinal round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Ravens finished the season with a 17-10 record.
Larrison was a First Team All-HCAC selection this season.
Emma Nelson
The Morristown graduate had eight points, six rebounds and one block on Feb. 24 in Marian Ancilla’s 65-42 win over Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Marian Ancilla improved to 17-10.
Brooklyn Bailey
The Triton Central graduate had six points, three rebounds and one assist Wednesday in Kaskaskia College’s 81-43 loss to Lake Land College.
Kaskaskia closed out its season Saturday with a 111-37 loss at Illinois Central College. Bailey finished with six points, five rebounds and one steal.
