
Shelbyville graduate Ellie Simpson helped IU East women’s soccer to a pair of shutout victories last week.
On Thursday, the Red Wolves defeated IU Columbus, 2-0. Simpson, a defender, played all 90 minutes for IU East in the road win.
IU East blanked Brescia Saturday, 1-0, to improve to 7-4-2 overall and 4-1 in conference matches. Simpson again played all 90 minutes in the shutout win.

Shelby Lasure
The Shelbyville graduate had two assists and one dig Friday for Anderson University in a 25-18, 25-10, 25-17 loss to Franklin College.
The Ravens dropped to 8-8 this season and are 0-2 against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) foes.
Brayden Wilkins
The Triton Central graduate had eight carries for 19 yards, one reception for seven yards and one kickoff return for 13 yards Saturday for Franklin College in a 35-34 loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Franklin dropped to 2-3 this season and 0-1 in the HCAC.
Asher Caldwell
The Morristown graduate was near the top of the leaderboard after the first round of the 2025 Flyers Intercollegiate Fall Invitational with a 2-under-par round of 70 at the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, Illinois.
Caldwell, playing for Trine University, fell off the pace with rounds of 83 and 81 to finish 17th overall with a three-round total of 234.
Oliver Gearlds
IU Kokomo men’s golf finished fourth at the Egypt Valley Intercollegiate in Ada, Michigan.
Gearlds, a Triton Central graduate, carded rounds of 85, 79 and 75 for a three-round total of 239 (+23).
