Kylee Edwards reached base three times and scored two runs Monday night to lead LSU to a 7-2 win over Texas A&M.
The Tigers improved to 19-9 and secured their first SEC win of the season (1-5).
Edwards, a Shelbyville graduate, began last week with three hits, two runs scored and two runs batted in for LSU in a 12-2 win at Nicholls.
Texas A&M defeated the Tigers Saturday, 7-2, in the SEC series opener in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Edwards had a hit in the loss.
The Aggies won game two Sunday, 3-2.

Maya Chandler
The Triton Central graduate’s playing days are over but her coaching career is just beginning.
Chandler is an assistant coach at Miami (Ohio), the reigning Mid-America Conference champions.
The RedHawks (28-6) earned a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will open against No. 4 seed West Virginia (27-6) Saturday in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Olivia Faust
The Triton Central graduate finished with eight points, one rebound, two assists and one steal Saturday in Marian’s 70-47 victory over Columbia College to earn a seventh consecutive trip to the NAIA National Tournament Round of 16 in Sioux City, Iowa.
On Friday, the Knights defeated Haskell Indian Nations University, 96-67, in their postseason tournament opener. Faust finished with four points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Marian, now 31-2 this season, will face Shawnee State University Friday at 7 p.m.


Corbin Deck and Layne Pogue
Franklin College men’s volleyball went 1-4 last week.
The Grizzlies suffered two losses Tuesday to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. In the opening 25-12, 25-17, 20-25, 25-17 loss, Deck, a Shelbyville graduate had five kills and three digs.
The Pomeroys won the second match of the doubleheader, 25-20, 24-26, 25-18, 25-20. Deck had six kills, two blocks and five digs. Pogue, also a Shelbyville graduate, had one kill, 13 assists, one service ace, five digs and one block.
Franklin defeated Defiance College Thursday, 25-18, 24-26, 30-28, 25-22. Deck finished with 10 kills, two aces, two blocks and 12 digs.
On Saturday, Franklin lost to Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 25-15, 25-16, 25-18. Deck had three kills, one block and seven digs. Pogue collected six assists.
The Grizzlies closed out Saturday with a loss at Adrian College, 25-14, 25-23, 25-18. Deck finished with two kills, one assist and five digs.
The Grizzlies are 5-16 this season.


Kali Laycock and Brooke Lipperd
The Shelbyville graduates combined for five hits Sunday in an 8-7 win over Aurora to complete a doubleheader sweep. Laycock had three hits and scored two runs. Lipperd had two hits in four at bats.
In the opener, Franklin defeated Aurora, 14-11. Laycock had a hit, a walk and scored a run.
On Saturday, Franklin defeated Denison, 10-9, in the Transylvania Pioneer Classic in Lexington, Kentucky. Laycock had two hits and two runs batted in.
The Grizzlies then suffered their first loss of the season, 4-0, to Millikin. Lipperd had a walk in the loss.
Franklin is 5-1.

Cheyenne Eads
The Shelbyville graduate collected four wins last week to push her season record to 12-0 this season for the University of Indianapolis.
She was the winning pitcher March 9 over Ferris State (12-5), Wednesday against Florida Tech (8-5), Saturday against Upper Iowa (13-2) and Sunday against Quincy (18-8).
On Sunday, Eads pitched into the seventh inning, allowing six hits while striking out 11.
The Greyhounds, ranked 11th nationally, are 23-1 this season.

Lillian Fillippinie
The Triton Central graduate earned her first collegiate win for Muskingum on March 10 at the Space Coast Spring Games. Fillippinie pitched a complete game, allowing three hits while striking out five in Muskingum’s 7-1 win over Rivier.
She also had a hit and drove in a run in the victory.
The Muskies are 9-1 this season, their best start since 2018.

Jayda McKee
The Triton Central graduate has a hit, drove in a run, stole a base and scored a run for Anderson on March 9 in a 7-2 win over Dean in Kissimmee, Florida.
In the Ravens’ second game of the day, McKee had a hit and scored a run in a 5-4 loss to St. Scholastica.
On Saturday, McKee had a hit and a stolen base in Anderson’s 8-3 loss to DePauw at the Transylvania Pioneer Classic in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Anderson is 2-7 this season.

Charlie Rife
The Shelbyville graduate delivered a pinch-hit three-run home run Friday for Bellarmine in a 15-9 loss to Austin Peay State University.
Bellarmine lost two of three games to Austin Peay State to fall to 5-13 (1-2 Atlantic Sun Conference).

Brock Kuhn
The Shelbyville graduate had a run-scoring single on March 9 for Ohio Northern in a 13-2 win over Suffolk (Massachusetts) at the RussMatt Invitational in Davenport, Florida.
Ohio Northern closed out its Spring Break trip with a 10-4 record.

Bryce Haney
The Triton Central graduate got the start for Wabash Wednesday in an 8-6 win over Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Haney worked the first three innings, allowing four hits and three runs (two earned).
Wabash is 5-8 this season.
