LSU had little trouble advancing out of the regional round of the NCAA Tournament.
Hosting the Baton Rouge Regional, LSU opened the postseason Friday with an 8-0 win over Akron. Shelbyville graduate Kylee Edwards had a double and a triple, scored twice and drove in three runs in the victory.
On Saturday, LSU defeated Virginia Tech, 8-0. Edwards had two more hits, including a double, a walk, scored a run and drove in two.
The Tigers defeated Virginia Tech again Sunday, 7-2, to advance to the Super Regional round. Edwards had a single and scored a run.
LSU travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the Super Regional to face the overall No. 1 seed Crimson Tide. The three-game series begins Friday with a berth in the Women’s College World Series at stake.

Cheyenne Eads
The University of Indianapolis moved within two wins of reaching the Division II Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with a trio of wins at the Midwest Regional.
The Greyhounds defeated Tiffin, 6-4, Thursday. Eads, a Shelbyville graduate, earned the win in the circle, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing six hits, two walks and four runs.
On Friday, Indianapolis topped Saginaw Valley, 6-4. Eads drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the victory.
The Greyhounds were crowned regional champions with a second win Friday over Saginaw Valley, 8-5. Eads improved to 31-2 this season, pitching 6.2 innings, surrendering eight hits and three walks while striking out two.
Eads also was hit by a pitch in the win to set a new Division II record for the season at 37. She also leads all Division II pitchers with 31 wins.
The Greyhounds improved to 59-5, leaving them one win short of tying the program record for wins in a season.
Indianapolis hosts McKendree Thursday and Friday this week in a Super Regional.
The winner advances to play in Frost Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Division II national championship.

Brayden Wilkins
The Triton Central graduate finished 12th in the 100 meters in 10.71 seconds and 10th in the 200 in 21.69 at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier at Augustana College.
Wilkins is a sophomore at Franklin College.
