Hadyn Ball secured a third-place finish for Wabash College wrestling Saturday at the Millikin Open in Decatur, Illinois.
Competing at 197 pounds, Ball, a Triton Central graduate, won his first match of his junior year with a pinfall victory over Michael Romero of Cornerstone College. He followed that with a second pinfall victory over Triton’s Everett McClelland.
In the semifinal round, Ball was defeated by Millikin’s Mateo Casillas, 6-4. In the third-place match, Ball defeated fellow Wabash wrestler Spencer Watson, 3-2.
Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.

Emma Nelson
The Morristown graduate earned a start in her first collegiate game at Marion University Ancilla.
The Chargers defeated Delta College, 72-58. Nelson finished with seven points, three rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot.

Bella Larrison
The Waldron graduate had 15 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block Friday for Anderson University in an 81-60 loss to Otterbein in its season opener.


Tenleigh Phelps and Lizzie Graham
IU South Bend lost its home opener Wednesday to Spring Arbor, 85-73.
Phelps, a Triton Central graduate, finished with four points, six rebounds and six assists for the Titans (1-2).
Graham, also a Triton Central graduate, had one assist in six minutes of playing time.

Olivia Faust
The Triton Central graduate helped Marian University to a pair of wins at the Catholic Classic in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
On Friday in a 77-54 win at St. Xavier University (Illinois), Faust finished with eight points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
The Knights improved to 3-0 Saturday with a 105-47 win over IU Northwest. Faust had four points, three rebounds and one assist.

Brooklyn Bailey
The Triton Central graduate finished with 14 points, six rebounds, one steal and one block on Nov. 1 in Kaskaskia College’s 47-34 win over Shawnee Community College.
Kaskaskia suffered its first loss of the season Friday, 84-55, against Olney Central College at Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois. Bailey had nine points, five rebounds and one assist.
On Saturday, Black Hawk College defeated Kaskaskia, 69-47, in Mattoon. Bailey had 10 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal for Kaskaskia (1-2).

Axel Conover
The Shelbyville graduate had three tackles Saturday for Hanover College in a 49-8 win over Otterbein University.
The Panthers improved to 7-2 this season and close out the regular season schedule on Saturday against Franklin College in the 95th Victory Bell Game.

Brayden Wilkins
The Triton Central graduate had three rushes for 20 yards, two receptions for 13 yards and two kickoff returns for 83 yards Saturday for Franklin College in a 59-57 3-overtime win over Bluffton.
Franklin is 5-4 this season.

Ellie Simpson
IU East women’s soccer advanced to the River States Conference’s postseason tournament’s semifinal with a 1-0 win Wednesday over Rio Grande. Simpson, a Shelbyville graduate, helped the Red Wolves to their 11th win of the season with the shutout victory.
IU East’s season came to an end Saturday in Evansville, Indiana, with a 1-0 loss to Oakland City in the semifinals. It was the second loss of the season for the Red Wolves, who finished 11-6-3, to Oakland City.

Shelby Lasure
Anderson volleyball dropped to 10-13 this season with a pair of losses to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents.
On Wednesday, Bluffton defeated the Ravens, 25-18, 25-27, 20-25, 25-22, 15-12. Lasure, a Shelbyville graduate, had three assists and 12 digs for Anderson.
Hanover defeated Anderson, 25-13, 25-22, 25-23, Saturday to drop the Ravens to 2-7 in the HCAC standings. Lasure finished with 14 digs for Anderson.

Kindall Dorsey
Wright State Lake volleyball finished fourth at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II National Championship in Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania.
The Lakers opened the event Thursday with a 25-13, 25-14, 25-21 loss to Cincinnati-Clermont. Dorsey, a Morristown graduate, finished with one kill and 11 digs for Wright State Lake.
On Friday, the Lakers rallied for a 19-25, 16-25, 26-24, 25-13, 15-7 win over Penn State Shenango. Dorsey had 19 digs, seven service aces and one assist.
Wright State Lake closed out Friday with a 25-20, 25-9, 20-25, 25-21 loss to Kent State Tuscarawas in a semifinal round match. Dorsey had 27 digs in the loss.
In the third-place match Saturday, Penn State York defeated the Lakers, 25-19, 25-19, 25-22. Dorsey had 21 digs.
Wright State Lake ended the season with an 11-12 record.
