Collegiate Update: Larrison helps Ravens secure season-opening win

Bella Larrison scored a game-high 14 points on Nov. 12 to lead Anderson to a season-opening 85-49 win over Concordia College.

Larrison, a Waldron graduate, finished with 14 points, five rebounds and one assist.

The Ravens played two games in the Beth Baker Classic in Wheaton, Illinois, and finished 1-1.

On Friday, Wheaton College defeated Anderson, 79-64. Larrison had two points, six rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block.

Anderson defeated North Park Saturday, 77-76. Larrison collected 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.

Brooklyn Bailey

The Triton Central graduate scored 21 points and added three rebounds and one assist for Kaskaskia College on Nov. 11 in an 80-64 loss to Rend Lake College.

On Wednesday, Bailey scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds, and had two assists, one steal and two blocks in Kaskaskia’s 64-57 loss at Shawnee Community College.

Bailey was limited to three points, four rebounds and two assists Saturday in a 67-56 loss at Olney Central College.

Olivia Faust

The Triton Central graduate had nine points, seven rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals Saturday in No. 19 Marian University’s triple-overtime loss at No. 8 University of the Cumberlands, 103-99.

On Wednesday, Marian defeated Olivet Nazarene University, 91-70. Faust finished with seven points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Kyle Crim

The Morristown graduate recorded six points, one assist and one block Saturday in Hanover’s 72-68 win at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The win improved the Panthers to 3-0.

On Wednesday, Hanover won 67-66 at Spalding University. Crim had two assists.

Drake Moore

The Morristown graduate had two points, three assists, four rebounds and one block for Indiana University Kokomo on Nov. 11 in a 95-90 overtime win over the University of Northwestern Ohio.

On Saturday, IU Northwest defeated IU Kokomo, 106-74, in Gary, Indiana. Moore had two points and one rebound.

Tenleigh Phelps and Lizzie Graham

Phelps, a Triton Central graduate, scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds and added five assists and three steals Wednesday in IU South Bend’s 82-62 win at Bethel.

Graham, also a Triton Central graduate, had three points in the win.

On Saturday, IU South Bend defeated Taylor, 75-68. Graham was credited with an assist in the win.

Rylie Stephens

The Triton Central graduate had a double-double – 16 points and 11 rebounds – Wednesday in West Florida’s 92-65 win at Spring Hill in Mobile, Alabama.

Michael Fox

The Shelbyville graduate placed 105th Saturday for Manchester University at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Cross Country Championships held in Shelbyville.

Fox completed the Blue River Cross Country 8-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 58 seconds.

Brooklyn Schiffli

The Triton Central graduate closed out her collegiate career at Jacksonville State Saturday with a 25-22, 25-16, 19-25, 25-21 win over Louisiana Tech. Schiffli had one kill, four assists and 17 digs.

On Friday, Schiffli finished with four assists and 23 digs in a 21-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 win over Louisiana Tech.

The Gamecocks finished the season 10-21.

Maggie Schweitzer

The Triton Central graduate had eight assists and three digs Wednesday in Hanover’s 25-10, 31-29, 25-10 loss at Earlham College in the quarterfinal round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Panthers finished the season 21-8.

Julia Sanders

The Triton Central graduate had one kill and 11 digs Saturday in No. 11 IU Kokomo’s 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-13 loss to IU East in the River States Conference Tournament championship match.

The loss was the first for the Cougars (31-5) since Aug. 31.

On Monday, IU Kokomo learned it will host Indiana Tech Saturday in an NAIA Tournament Opening Round match.
