The Lawrenceville basketball Indians have taken another step toward repeating as the Little Illini Conference (LIC) regular season champion.
They beat the Richland County (Olney) Tigers 62-51 Friday night at Lawrenceville.
The win leaves the Tribe tied with Marshall and Casey-Westfield at 4-1 in league play with two games remaining.
They led 17-11 after one quarter and 28-27 at the half before taking control of the game in the second half.
Zander Cessna was the catlyst in the victory scoring a career high 25 points and Maddox Pargin added 16.
The Indians JV lost to the visiting Tigers 53-41 with Aiden Winningham scoring 18.
The varsity is now 19-6 and have won 10 games in a row.
Next up is a non-conference game Saturday night at Altamont.
