Forward Garrett Pugh scored as the buzzer sounded off a short shot attempt to give the Marshall Lions a 61-60 comeback win Friday night over the Lawrenceville Indians at Marshall.
Indian guard Parker Hardiman had hit 1 0f 2 free throws with 5.9 seconds left to give the Indians a 60-59 lead before Pugh's heroics.
The tough loss was the second in a row for the Tribe, who fall to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in the Little Illini Conference.
The Indians led 11-7 after 1 quarter, 30-23 at the half and 42-40 after three quarters.
They were led by Maddox Pargin who scored 16 points and joined the 1000 points scored club with a basket in the third quarter.
Both Zander Cessna and Hardiman had 14 each.
The Indian JV improved to 4-2 with a 62-40 win led by Aiden Winningham with 18 points and Blayton Gossett with 14.
The Indians head to Sullivan, Ill Saturday to meet Arcola in the Redskin Shootout at 11:30 a.m.
