The Red Hill baseball Salukis are off to a solid start to the season as they won two out of their first three games, including a weekend split at home.

They beat county rival Lawrenceville 12-2 in five innings Friday before dropping a 4-2 decision Saturday to Woodlawn.

The Salukis scored 12 times on only 5 hits against the Indians with Carter Davis homering and driving in 3 runs and Marcus Davis tripling with 3 RBI. The Indians were held to 2 runs on only 4 hits to fall to 0-2 on the season.

The Salukis had a 2-0 lead Saturday heading into the top of the 7th but gave up 4 runs to the Cardinals to trail 4-2 heading into the bottom of the inning. They did have the tying runs on base but could not get the big hit and suffered their first loss to fall to 2-1. The visitors scored their 4 runs on 5 hits and made 2 errors while the hosts scored twice on 5 hits and made only 1 error.

The Salukis are idle until Thursday when they travel to Webber.
