Shirley A. Griffin, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at Greenfield Healthcare Center.
Born on December 13, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan she was the daughter of Edward Keenan and Stella (Possuch) Keenan. She married Lawrence Patrick Griffin on July 21, 1962, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2008.
Survivors include 2 sons- Kirby Griffin (Elizabeth) of Shelbyville, Lawrence E. Griffin of Fishers; sister Sandy Kruse (Vince) of St. Claire Shores, Michigan; 3 grandchildren-Jacob, Kimberly, Eric; 4 great grandchildren- Zoey, Rose, Jasper, and Asher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Lawrence, 2 brothers Jerry Keenan, Mike Keenan and sister Carol Teasel.
Shirley had lived in this area for 7 years after previously moving from Noblesville. She graduated from St. Phillip Neri High School in 1959, was a member of Noblesville Bowling Hall of fame and was a homemaker. Shirley enjoyed bowling and decorating for Christmas. She was an avid Michigan University football and Chicago Cubs fan, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
A gathering of friends will be Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
