Ruby May Jeffries, 86, former Shelbyville resident, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 at Compass Park Masonic Home in Franklin.
 
Born March 2, 1939 in Grayson County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Raymond and Cecil (Decker) Williams.  She married Charles F. Jeffries on August 12, 1957, and he preceded her on September 25, 1998.
 
Survivors include a son Christopher O. Jeffries (Justina) of Shelbyville; 5 sisters- Elizabeth Decker (Herbie) of Caneyville, KY., Mary Geary of Fordsville, KY., Carol Whitaker (John) of Ramsey, IN., Ramona Minton (Kevin) of Leitchfield, KY., Clara Rute of Caneyville; and 6 brothers- James Williams (Janet) of Caneyville, Henry Williams
(Karen) of Shelbyville, Thomas Williams (Jewel) of Vine Grove, KY., Richard Williams (Wanietta) of Caneyville, Russell Williams of Caneyville, and Kenneth Williams of Caneyville; 2 grandchildren- Allena Garcia (Arthur) & Crystal Jeffries; 4 great grandchildren- Braylynn Rich, Orion Garcia, Miles Schneider, Indigo Garcia; and also survived by several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Anthony "Tony" Jeffries, 3 brothers- Alvie, Robert & Floyd Williams, and 3 sisters- Nancy Williams, Anna Fay Willis, and Ethel Hansen.
 
Mrs. Jeffries had lived most of her lifetime in this area, and was a home maker.  She was a longtime member of Hope's Point Baptist Church, and a supporter of Beulah Land Baptist Camp in Summersville, Kentucky.
 
Ruby enjoyed attending Gospel concerts, and volunteered a lot at the Haven Center and Salvation Army, and was very involved in her church and church activities.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David Humphrey officiating.  Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery.  
 
Friends may call on Friday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
 
Memorial contributions can be made to Especially Kids Health & Rehab Activity Center, in care of the funeral home.
