Roy James Carter, 81, of Arlington, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his residence.
Born on July 30, 1944, in Wayne County, Kentucky he was the son of Lonnie O'dell Carter and Hattie Estell (Daniels) Carter.
He married Donna Jean Carter on July 27, 1963, and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2020.
Survivors include 3 children- Brian (Linda) Carter of Shelbyville, Brad (Debbie) Carter of Greensburg, Bridget (Chris) Carter-Peters of Arlington; 3 siblings- Ron "Cotton" Carter, Gaye (Randall) Tucker, Harlon Carter; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, parents and 4 siblings.
Roy had lived in Arlington area for 37 years after previously living in Shelbyville. He attended Cornerstone Christian Church in St. Paul and was a self-employed farmer and worked for RCA for 37 years in mold maintenance.
Roy enjoyed his muscle cars, raising mules, and farming, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. George Mitchell officiating.
Family will receive friends on Friday morning from 11:00am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery.
