Robert L. "Bob" Stevens, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026 at his residence.
Born February 2, 1931 in Rushville, he was the son of Albert and Fannie (Toliver) Stevens.
He married Pansy (Vandivier) Stevens on February 3, 1959, and she preceded him on May 4, 2023. Survivors include a son Danny R. Stevens (companion Ruth Lake) of Shelbyville; 3 daughters- Patricia E. Stringer (Rick) of Plainfield, Carol A. Thomason of Hephzibah, Georgia, Linda J. Stevens-Hankins of Edinburgh; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and 10 great -great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, son Rickie A. Stevens, daughter Pamela S. Foot, sisters Mary B. Stevens, and Ruth E. Hobbs, a great-granddaughter Megan Douglas, and a great- great granddaughter Serenity A. Stroud.
Mr. Stevens had lived in this area for most of his lifetime, and was a member of Crossroads Community Church and the American Legion Post #70. He worked at PPG for 5 years, and had been employed by the Military Department of Indiana at Camp Atterbury as a master mechanic, retiring after many years of service.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, serving in Korea from 1951-1953, where he earned several medals and commendations, including 3 bronze stars.
Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, and going on cruises. He loved to work and to spend time with his family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.
Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening, September 8, 2026 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
