Omni Danielle Hooker, age 37, passed away on January 29, 2026 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1988 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the only child of William Higgins and Sandy (Farrar) Higgins. She was married to Elijah Hooker and he survives.
Omni Hooker will be remembered as a devoted mother, passionate educator, and woman of deep faith whose warmth touched everyone around her. Omni was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and later earned an associate’s degree from Vincennes University. Omni dedicated herself to working with children. She served as a student teacher at Bridgeport Grade School and taught special needs students at Clay City School with patience, compassion, and heart. She was a proud member of AOX Sorority and carried that same spirit of friendship and service throughout her life. Omni treasured time with her beloved children, Daegon and Paisley, creating lasting memories through trips to Six Flags, Holiday World, children’s museums, and countless sports and school activities in which she was always an active and supportive presence. She had a love for music and singing, even auditioning for American Idol, and was known for her joyful personality. A devoted animal lover with a strong religious faith, Omni lived with kindness, enthusiasm, and a deep love for her family that will never be forgotten.
Omni was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Patricia Bell and Guy William Higgins as well as her maternal grandparents: Raydell Farrar and Harvey Farrar Jr.
Survivors include her parents: Bill and Sandy Higgins of Lawrenceville, Illinois; her two children: Paisley and Daegon Wittenmyer of Bridgeport, Illinois; a step-grandfather, Jim Decker of Louisiana and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1:00 PM CST at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM CST until the service hour of 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Omni’s children or to the funeral home to help with funeral related expenses.
