Mikyla M. Montgomery, 30, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at her residence.
She was born September 7, 1995, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Scott A. Montgomery and Michelle (Davis) Roser.
Mikyla had a love for horror movies, such as Tales from the Crypt and Abbott and Costello meets Frankenstein. She also had a love for Star Wars films. She enjoyed being outdoors, going on nature walks and swimming. Mikyla was also a talented artist and enjoyed doing crafts and painting. Throughout her life, music was also important and therapeutic to her. Mikyla’s true joy came from spending time with her son, Tegan, and spoiling her family members with her love for shopping on Amazon.
Mikyla is survived by her mother, Michelle (husband, Ryan) Roser; son, Tegan Runshe; brother, Ross (wife, Kelsay) Montgomery; step-brother, Noah Diller; step-sister, Rylie Roser; maternal grandfather, Rick Davis; uncles, Steven (Tim Grino) Hamner, John (wife, Amy) Hamner, Jeff Montgomery, and Jackie Montgomery; aunts, Patricia (husband, Tim) Aldrich, and Stacey (husband, Mykel) Crover; nieces and nephews, Journey, Ametyi, Crimson, Kreedance, and Krue; her three best friends, Susan, Lindsay, and Kristen; several cousins; and her fur baby, Priscilla also known as “Wuppy”.
She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandparents, Jan and Jack Montgomery, maternal grandmother, Linda Davis, and her lifelong friend, Jake Welty.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Merry Popplewell officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
