Mary Ann Kent, age 84, of Birds, Illinois passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at The Haven of Bridgeport. She was born January 4, 1942 in Martin County, Indiana, the daughter of Noble J. Divine and Dorothy Weger Divine. She married Thomas Kent on June 30, 1962, and he passed away on November 19, 2012.
Mary Ann was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, quilting, and crocheting. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s baseball games and cherished the time she spent with her family.
Preceding Mary Ann in death were her parents; her husband, Thomas; her grandson, Joe Decker; her brothers, Jack Divine, James “Fred” Divine, Noble “Andy” Divine, and Richard Divine; and her sisters, Sharon Hoke, Diane Braun, Alma Lucille Divine, and Judy Kennedy.
Survivors include her children, Carrie and Ron Decker of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Mark and Nelly Kent of Birds, Illinois, Kim and Mike Robinson of Robinson, Illinois; her stepchildren, Thomas and Tracy Kent of Florida, Debra Ann Amara of Maryland, and Barbara DeWeese of Florida; her grandchildren, Kyle Kent, Kailyn Kent, Jake Decker, Jordan and Crystal Lemeron, and Jay and Lacey Lemeron; several great-grandchildren; and her brother, Steven Divine of Washington, IN.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 3:00 PM CST at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. A private burial will be conducted at Price Cemetery in Russellville, Illinois.
