Marion D. McComas, “Danny”, 77, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his home in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Born June 18, 1948 in Williamstown, Kentucky, he was the son of Nathan McComas and Marie (Souder) McComas. He is survived by his wife Eula F. (Flannery) McComas, whom he married on July 4, 1970.

Other survivors include his son Todd McComas (Angela Adkins), daughter Ericka McComas-Church (Kevin Church), his brother Stephen McComas (Maristella Cadoni), his sisters Kathy Joerger and Karen Sandlin, four grandchildren; Bailey McComas (Kirsten McComas), Kaitlyn, Peyton, and Rylee Church. 

He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, several sisters-and-brothers-in-law, and many friends and neighbors who were like family. He was preceded in death by his son Chad, his parents, infant brother, his granddaughters Abigail and Alison, and other beloved members of his extended family.

Danny graduated from Burney High School in 1966 and attended Murray State University before joining the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and spent a stint as a member of the Marine Corps boxing team. After his service, he began his career working in supervision at various manufacturing companies including General Electric, Cummins, Coltec Industries, and Holley Performance. In retirement, he enjoyed serving as the compliance officer for Shelby County Solid Waste Management, volunteering as a reserve deputy for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, and spoiling his grandchildren.

Danny grew up an athlete and played competitive softball well into his fifties. He was passionate about his favorite sports teams and loved fishing and golfing with friends and family. He was a long-standing member of the American Legion and always stood in support of active duty service members and veterans of all branches. Danny was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Shelbyville.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, Indiana. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home. Graveside service, to include Military Honors, will follow the memorial service at Milford Cemetery in Milford, Indiana for those wishing to attend.
