M. Delores Snyder, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026 at the Willows of Shelbyville.
Born October 6, 1936 in Weston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Mabel (Stump) Chandler. She married Charles Ray "Chuck" Snyder on August 17, 1956, and he preceded her on July 27, 2001.
Survivors include a son Jeffrey Snyder of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law Polly Snyder of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren- Richard Snyder Jr. (Dawn), Brandy Mynatt (Tony), David W. Snyder, Jennifer Kieninger (Brad); 5 great grandchildren- Lauren, Elsa,
Gavin, Colin, Silas; and two great great grandchildren Liam & Sophia.
She was preceded in death by her mother, 2 sons- David Snyder & Richard Snyder Sr., and a great granddaughter Katie Donohue.
Mrs. Snyder had lived in this area since 1969, after moving from West Virginia. She had been Director of Social Services at the Haven Center/Especially Kidz, retiring after 30 years of service. She was also a life long care giver. She graduated from high school in West Virginia.
Delores served as president of the Resident Council at the Willows, and was very well loved by the residents and staff for the wise advise she would give to them. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Skip Bo, and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
