Lawrence E. "Larry" Grubb, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Aspen Place in Greensburg.
Born January 5, 1936 in Indianapolis, hew was the son of Mardin Grubb and Lula (Kent) Grubb.
He married Sandra (McNew) Grubb on January 18, 2007 and she survives. He had previously been married to Marilyn (Allison) Grubb and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his spouse Sandra; a stepson Danny Thomas (Laurrie) of Utica, Kentucky, and a stepdaughter Dinah Hyatt (Dave) of Lonsdale, Minnesota; 5 step grandchildren- Devin, Corey, Stephanie, Nicole, Natosha; and several step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers James and Frank Grubb, and a sister Norma Fansler.
Mr. Grubb had lived for most of his lifetime in this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1954. He had been an engineer at Allison Division of General Motors, retiring after many years of servicee.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, and also drove the van for Shelby Senior Services for several years.
He had been a Boy Scout leader, and was a US Army veteran. Larry enjoyed trveling, visiting wine countries and wine tasting, and loved to dance.
No services will be observed. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
