Jeannie Herron, age 92, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by her family.
Jeannie Herron, age 92, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by her family. She was born January 20, 1934 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Harry Raymond “Bud” Corder and Constance Emmons Corder. She married Larry Herron on August 27, 1957, and he survives.
Jeannie was a registered nurse, homemaker, and devoted wife and mother. She was a lifelong active member of First Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She attended the weekly Women’s Bible Study and helped plan and schedule the Singspiration.
She enjoyed baking sourdough bread, lovingly known as “Mamaw bread,” as well as chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Her children adored her, and she cherished them deeply. Her commitment to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unsurpassed.
Jeannie was a true prayer warrior, and her strong faith in God was reflected throughout her life. Her love for her family, her faith, and her caring nature defined her.
Preceding Jeannie in death were her parents and sister, Patricia Jenney.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Larry; children, Julie (Gary) Bodnarchuk of Paducah, Kentucky, Amy (Andy) Hanson of Evansville, Indiana, Heidi (Craig) Johnson of Brazil, Indiana, Michael (Maria) Herron of Flat Rock; grandchildren, Callie (Daniel), Brian (McKinley), Jill, Mark (Grace), Ross (Sarah), Tess (Luke), Emily (Alex), Macey, Ciara, and Justin; eight great-grandchildren and was anticipating the arrival of two additional great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church, 1015 12th Street in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Private graveside services will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Methodist Church.
