
James Charles Schuerman, 82, of Avon, passed away on August 8, 2025 at his residence.
He was born December 30, 1942, in Napoleon, Indiana to Charles and Evelyn (Boyd) Schuerman.
He married Therese Hoban on November 14, 1964, and she preceded him in death August 26, 2021. Survivors include sons Daniel (Wife Jennifer) Schuerman of Brownsburg; Michael (Wife Rhonda) Schuerman of Speedway; and one daughter Denise Kerfoot of Grosse Point, Michigan. Six Grandchildren - Madisen, Jake, Everett, Oliver Schuerman, Hudson Kerfoot and Vienna Kerfoot.
Mr. Schuerman was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
He graduated from Napoleon High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University. James was a resident of the Avon area for 55 years, after moving from St. Paul. He was an Engineer for Allison Transmissions for many years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the St. Suzanna Catholic Church of Plainfield. James was an avid golfer, he enjoyed mowing his lawn, and watching wildlife in his yard. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron, Indiana.
