Jack L. McFarland, 94, of Plymouth passed away peacefully on Monday September 28, 2026, at the Center for Hospice-Raclin House in Mishawaka.
Jack was born in South Bend on April 13, 1932, to the late Wayne and Virginia (Luke) McFarland.
Jack held many jobs including for UPS and he retired from Bomarko after a long career.
He married the love of his life, Joyce Baker, on October 20, 1951, and the two shared 71 years of marriage before her passing in 2022.
Jack was a sports fan, loved Notre Dame, the Chicago Bears, and the Indianapolis Colts. He and Joyce loved antiques and oak woods. He loved to ride his Harley, which he did to every state except 2.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Sharon Newhart, his son, Rick McFarland, 6 grandchildren, Michelle, John (Stephanie), Chad (Becky), Brad (Tanya), Jason, and Brandon (Brianna) as well as 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Gerry Reed, and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter Jackie Wright and his siblings.
Memorial visitation for Jack will be held from 4pm-6pm on Sunday October 11, 2026, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Plymouth Chapel, 300 W. Madison St. Plymouth. A memorial service will begin at 6pm. He and Joyce will be interred at a later date at Fairmont Cemetery.
