Dorothy R. Krick, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her residence.
She was born March 16, 1933, in Indianapolis, IN to Marlin Abel Boss and Mary Alice (Orner) Boss.
Dorothy was a graduate of Frankfort Pilgrim High School and Frankfort Pilgrim College. She went on and done her studies and graduated from Indiana University. Dorothy was an Educator for a total of 24 years at the following districts, Indianapolis, Knightstown, Lewisburg, OH and she retired from Shelbyville Central Schools. She was a member at ISTA and N.E.A.
She was a member of First Church of Nazarene.
Dorothy married Samuel Hawn on May 28, 1957, and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1967. She then married Paul E. Krick on December 26, 1969, and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (husband, Ray) Jones; her grandchildren, Tim (wife, Cherie) Frame, David Frame, Kenny (wife, LoAnn) Frame and Brian (wife, Missy) Jones; 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; her other family, Roger, Beth, Sarah and Spence and her furry companion, “Buddy” her cat.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Hawn and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Noon with one hour visitation prior at First Church of Nazarene, 2315 S. Riley Hwy., Shelbyville, IN 46176 with Pastor Stephen Bohall officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
