David Benjamin Wood, age 61 of Cisne, Illinois, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
David Benjamin Wood, age 61 of Cisne, Illinois, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. He was born on August 15, 1965, in Olney, Illinois and raised by Charles “Chub” Wood and his wife Ruth (Seaton) Wood.
Fishing and working were David’s favorite things to do. Whether he was working or tinkering, he was always doing something. David liked to stay busy and help anyone he could. He was an accomplished carpenter and there weren’t too many things he wouldn’t tackle.
David is survived by: his son- Brandon Wood and wife Cassia of Flora, Illinois; four grandchildren- Keagan Rogers, Keira Rogers, Charles Wood, and Ian Wood; three sisters- Lucia Hinton, Cubia Acree and Paula Bowen; and someone very special to him- Kevin Brune and his wife Lynn of Flora, Illinois whom he loved like his own brother.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Charles and Ruth Wood; and his siblings- Jack Wood, Myra Lockhart, Evelyn Wepman, Mary Kieffer, and Judy Holt.
Services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026. A visitation will take place at the Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at May Chapel Church Cemetery also of Lawrenceville, Illinois.
