
Cheryl Kay Hallgarth Henry, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at her residence.
She was born December 17, 1945 in Rushville, IN to John Lewis McDaniels and Ida Ruth (Hankins) McDaniels.
Cheryl worked at Textron in Morristown for many years as a Quality Control Inspector. She attended Columbus Community Church, as well as, Shelbyville Community Church. She was a devout Christian woman that loved to read her bible. Cheryl was an animal lover and enjoyed gardening and caring for her plants. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the ocean. Family was the most important to her. She cherished the love and the memories made through the years.
She married Delmar Hallgarth on June 17, 1961 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2001. She later married Gerald Henry and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2012.
Cheryl is survived by her sons, Bobbie (wife, Janet) Hallgarth, and Rudy (wife, Rita) Hallgarth; her daughter, Rose Halzeard; her grandchildren, Jeff Hallgarth, Stephanie (husband, Jon) Stough, Kyle Hallgarth, Jennifer Hallgarth, Ashley (husband, Chris) Williams, Ryan (wife, Sarah) Hallgarth, and Ila Holzeard,; her great-grandchildren, William, Alex, Grace, Kaylee, Aubree, Brennan, McKenzie, Daniel, Ashlyan, Marvin, Jason, and Veyda; her sister, Debra (husband, Rodger) Evans; and her sister-in-law, Linda McDaniels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Johnny Hallgarth, and Paul Hallgarth; her grandson, John Hallgarth, her brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy McDaniels; her brother, Charles “Butch” McDaniels; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna and Robert Webb, and Sandra “Sue” and Richard Ruble.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m, Friday, October 3, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Merry Popplewell officiating.
Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery, Rushville, IN.
