Attorney General Todd Rokita invites Hoosiers to visit IndianaUnclaimed.gov to see if they have any money waiting for them this spring.
“As St. Patrick’s Day has once again come and gone, Hoosiers should still try their luck,” Attorney General Rokita said. “Even if your unclaimed pot of gold is modest, you should take possession of what is rightfully yours. You’ll never know unless you search for it.”
In 2025, the Office of Attorney General’s Unclaimed Property Division set an all-time record by returning more than $88 million to rightful owners, surpassing previous highs and reuniting Hoosiers with what’s theirs.
As of March this year, the Unclaimed Property Division has returned more than $35 million already in 2026. Nearly $1 billion remains unclaimed statewide.
Unclaimed property includes:
-
Unclaimed wages or commissions
-
Money orders
-
Safe deposit box contents
-
Savings and checking accounts
-
Refunds
-
Overpayments such as:
-
Credit card balances
-
Cell phone bills
Once unclaimed property is in its custody, the Unclaimed Property Division conducts an aggressive outreach effort to locate the rightful owners or heirs. Individuals and/or businesses have 25 years to claim money once it is reported to the Unclaimed Property Division.
Are you feeling lucky? Why not try the luck of the Irish and search for unclaimed property? Visit IndianaUnclaimed.gov or text CLAIM to 46220 to search your name, family or business.
