A 34-year-old woman was arrested for criminal trespassing on Tuesday afternoon after allegedly refusing to leave a room at the Economy Inn in Plymouth.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to the motel, located at 2535 North Michigan Street, at 4:13 p.m. on April 14th, following a report of an unwanted person. The caller stated that his ex-girlfriend, identified as Holly Nolen, was in his room and refusing to leave.
Motel staff spoke with responding officers and confirmed that the room was not registered in Nolen's name. Management requested that she be removed from the property and officially trespassed from the premises.
Officer Fisher made contact with Nolen, informing her that she was being trespassed from the motel and needed to vacate the property immediately. While Nolen verbally agreed to leave, police say she subsequently refused to exit the room or gather her belongings.
As a result of her refusal to comply, Nolen was taken into custody. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was booked on a charge of criminal trespassing and held on a $500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
