Walkerton motorcycle driver arrested operating without financial responsibility

A motorcycle rider from Walkerton was arrested early Monday morning after a Plymouth Police Officer conducted a traffic stop.

At 2:30 a.m. on July 14^th, Corporal Schieber stopped a motorcycle on Michigan Street at the intersection of Baker Street for a registration and equipment violation.

During the traffic stop, the rider was identified as Jordan Overmyer, 21, from Walkerton.

Overmyer was found to have a suspended identification card and a motorcycle that was neither insured nor registered. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for operating without financial responsibility with a prior conviction.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
