Local and area police department are warning residents to make sure and keep their cars and other vehicles locked. This warning comes as the number of random and rash vehicle break-ins rises in cities and towns in the Tri-State area. Numerous reports have been received of windows being broken out and vehicles stolen along with valuables and items inside being stolen. Police have a few tips on how to limit the chance that your vehicle will be broken into. Always lock your vehicle and take the keys. Never leave your vehicle running and unattended. Park in a well-lit area. Take your valuables with you when not in the vehicle and keep valuables inside the vehicle hidden and out of sight.
