Marshall County Police arrest a Plymouth man for domestic battery after being dispatched Friday night.
Just before 9 p.m. the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call in reference to a domestic battery situation that occured in the 5,000 block of 20th Road near Argos.
Deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded and investigated the issue. It was determined by Deputy Bragg that 20-year-old Giovanni J. Mendez of Plymouth committed domestic battery with moderate bodily injury.
Mendez was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked in for domestic battery with additional charges pending.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
