The asbestos abatement work on the floor of the Parkview Junior High School kitchen will ramp up next week. That according to an update on the situation made to the Unit 20 Board of Education Wednesday night by Superintendent Doug Daugherty. He indicated that if all goes well, the process could be over in three weeks and normal activity to prepare and serve student meals will resume. Right now, the kitchen and cafeteria areas are closed and meals are prepared at Parkside Elementary and served to students in the Parkview gym. The board did approve adoption of the 24-25 tentative budget and will place it on file for 30 days before a formal approval on September 18th after a public hearing.
