The REES Theatre has announced an exciting lineup of events for October, featuring a classic film screening, an '80s tribute concert, and a Halloween celebration.

The REES continues its Seasoned Citizen Film Series on Wednesday, October 14th at 2 p.m. with a screening of "The Pride of the Yankees," starring Gary Cooper as the legendary New York Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig and Teresa Wright as his wife, Eleanor.

The biographical drama traces Gehrig's journey from humble beginnings to an extraordinary baseball career. Known as "The Iron Horse," Gehrig became one of baseball's most celebrated players, admired for his talent, determination, courage, and character. The film highlights the triumphs of his career and the strength he showed after being diagnosed with ALS, culminating in his unforgettable farewell at Yankee Stadium. Baseball legend Babe Ruth appears as himself.

The Seasoned Citizen Film Series is a monthly afternoon series for guests ages 55 and better. Admission is $8 and includes popcorn and a drink. The event is sponsored by Allen & Donna Pontius.

On Saturday, October 17th at 7:30 p.m., the '80s tribute band Sunglasses At Night brings the decade's biggest hits to The REES stage. The high-energy performance features iconic songs, crowd interaction, and plenty of retro party vibes.

Tickets are available online, at Na Rie Simple Treasures, or at the Everwise Box Office the night of the show.

On Saturday, October 24th, from 6 to 11 p.m., The REES Theatre transforms into the ultimate Halloween destination with A Monster Ball: Thriller at The REES. The evening features a costume contest, silent auction, drinks, treats, and dancing all night long.

Tickets are $60 per couple, which includes two drink tickets, or $35 per person, which includes one drink ticket. Tickets are available online.

Whether it's a Halloween date night, a gathering with friends, or just a reason to dress up and have fun, organizers say Monster Ball is the place to be.
