Suspicious person identified as Uzcategui-Nava, arrested

Plymouth Police investigated the report of a suspicious person at 4 a.m. Sunday morning, July 21^st.  City Police Officers were dispatched to 830 North Fourth Street for a male that was believed to be attempting to break into the home. 

When the first officer arrived on scene, a male matching the reported description was located in the front yard of the home and identified as 22-year-old Erick A. Uzcategui-Nava of Plymouth.  Uzcategui-Nava was identified by the victims in the home as the one who was punching and breaking windows around the home while yelling a female residents name. 

Police determined that Uzcategui-Nava was lying to them about his identity and circumstances leading up to the investigation.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for pending criminal charges of intimidation, false informing, criminal mischief, and interfering with an officer’s investigation. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
