The city of Sumner is making application to the state of Illinois for grant funding for a planned water line project in the westside of the city.
The city council on Tuesday, July 14th heard from Jeff Vaughn of the Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission in Albion on the application process during their regular monthly session.
Vaughn is already at work with City Administrator Travis Trainer on gathering the required information to be used to apply for $1.4 million for the work. The application is due by the end of August.
A public hearing regarding the project is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11 at the next city council session at 6:30 p.m. where additional information regarding the project will be discussed.
