The Sumner City Council will soon move into a new home. They met in regular session Tuesday night and approved beginning the move into the new City Hall building located at 224 South Christy in Sumner. The move was approved after a progress report on the new structure by project engineer Shannon Woodard of Conner and Conner. Utilities and internet and phone service will start being set up at the new location Friday and the move itself will start on Monday. There may be a closing of the old City Hall as the transition takes place, according to Mayor Betty Brian. Also during the meeting, the council approved on first reading the annual Appropriation Ordinance for Fiscal Year 2024-25.
