The St Francisville City Council is getting two new members.
The council met Wednesday night at City Hall and approved the appointments of Naomi Evans and Travis Darnell to two vacant seats. Darnell will be the new Ward 3 representative taking over for Justin Stevenson, who stepped down due to health problems. Evans is the new Ward 1 representative and replaces Jaime Tussey, who recently resigned. Both will be formally sworn in next month. The council did approve an amended borrowing ordinance snice they received notification that the city will get a $1.4 million principal forgiveness loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) to help with the costs of the upcoming lead line replacement project. The city is also resubmitting it's application to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for an ITEP 2024 sidewalk repair grant. They missed out on being selected for the 2023 program.
