The driver who was killed after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident Monday, November 2nd on U.S. Highway 41 in Gibson County has now been identified.

The Gibson County Coroner's Office reports that he is 42-year-old Nicholas Pfister of Fort Branch, Indiana.

Preliminary information released by authorities say that a car on a county road pulled out onto Highway 41 and into the path of a truck. The truck struck the car broadside with the impact sending it across a nearby ditch and into the parking lot of a Pilot truck stop, where it then hit a parked Amazon delivery van.

First responders arrived on scene and found Pfister critically injured and began CPR until an ambulance arrived to take him to a local hospital where he later died.

An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday, November 5th as the investigation into the accident circumstances continues.
