Shots fired and a brick thrown in an altercation early Thursday morning led to a response and ongoing investigation.
About 12:30 a.m., officers with the Shelbyville Police Department responded to the 300 block of Van Avenue for a report of possible shots fired. Officers made contact with a man who reported he was the victim. The victim advised that he had been involved in an ongoing dispute with another man regarding a personal relationship with a female. The argument escalated when the suspect arrived at the victim’s residence and confronted him.
During the confrontation, shots were fired from inside the vehicle, and a brick was thrown at the vehicle.
Detectives were called to the scene and are actively investigating the incident. At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Based on the information currently available, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the public.
