Shelbyville Central Schools launches Golden Bear Card program for senior citizens

Shelbyville Central Schools is proud to announce the launch of the Golden Bear Card, a new program designed to honor and connect with senior citizens throughout the district.

The Golden Bear Card will be available free of charge to district residents who are 65 years of age or older and will provide free admission to all regular-season home Shelbyville Central Schools athletic contests, concerts, plays, musicals, and any other eligible extracurricular events.

The card does not apply to admission for Indiana High School Athletic Association tournament contests, where ticketing is governed by IHSAA regulations.

The program reflects the district’s commitment to strengthening relationships with community members who have helped shape Shelbyville and supported its schools over the years.

“Shelbyville Central Schools is proud to be a cornerstone of our community, and many of our senior citizens have spent decades supporting our students, staff, and schools,” said SCS Superintendent Dr. Matt Vance. “The Golden Bear Card is our way of saying thank you and ensuring that our senior residents can continue to enjoy the achievements and activities of our students. We want our schools to remain a place where every generation feels welcome, connected, and valued.”

The district encourages eligible residents to apply for a Golden Bear Card and take advantage of the opportunity to attend athletic competitions, performances, and other school-sponsored events throughout the year.

Cards will be available beginning on July 6.
