Sandhill cranes viewing available at Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Area

Thousands of sandhill cranes visit the marsh at Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA) every year as they migrate, and their visits make for an incredible wildlife viewing opportunity.
To spot the flocks of cranes, DNR recommends visiting Jasper-Pulaski FWA until mid-December at sunrise or sunset. The Sandhill Crane Viewing Platform has a few stationary viewing scopes available, but bringing your own spotting scope or binoculars may enhance your viewing experience.
You can also join the International Crane Foundation (ICF) migration every Saturday evening from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. CT, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. ET until Dec. 13 (excluding Thanksgiving weekend). During this time, ICF staff will be happy to answer all crane questions. DNR notes that you may even be able to spot an endangered whooping crane
