Saint Joseph Plymouth expands Cancer Care with arrival of Hematology-Oncology Specialist Dr. Ebenezer Kio

Cancer patients in Marshall County and across northern Indiana now have expanded access to specialized cancer and blood disorder care close to home. Dr. Ebenezer Kio, a board-certified hematology and oncology specialist with strong ties to the local community, has joined Saint Joseph Medical Group and began seeing patients on September 21st.

Dr. Kio will serve patients at both Saint Joseph Mishawaka Medical Center and Saint Joseph Plymouth Medical Center, bringing advanced cancer care directly to the Plymouth community.

His arrival is part of Saint Joseph Health System's continued investment in oncology services throughout the region — investments that include expanded infusion services and advanced radiation oncology capabilities at Saint Joseph Plymouth Medical Center, as well as plans for a new comprehensive Cancer Center in Mishawaka.

Dr. Kio specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of cancers and blood disorders. As a hematologist-oncologist, he works closely with patients and multidisciplinary care teams to develop personalized treatment plans that may include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive care services.

His expertise further expands local access to specialized hematology and oncology services while helping patients remain close to the support of family and friends during treatment — an important consideration for those facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
