Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported sexual assault.
The victim was initially treated at Pulaski Memorial Hospital before being transported to an out-of-county medical facility for a forensic examination.
Following an investigation, detectives determined that the alleged assault occurred earlier Friday afternoon at a storage unit near the Pulaski County Recycling Center. The victim reported that the suspect, an acquaintance, engaged in non-consensual sexual acts after being told multiple times to stop.
Deputies made contact with the suspect Charles Dubois later that evening at a residence in Winamac. The individual voluntarily accompanied officers to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department for an interview. Based on statements and evidence obtained during the investigation, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Pulaski County Jail.
The suspect Charles Dubois has been preliminarily charged with Rape, a Level 3 Felony. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional evidence is being processed, including forensic analysis and digital evidence.
