The Shelbyville Plan Commission approved the site development plan Monday for Major Health Partners expansion plan for Renovo Orthopedic Center.
The site development plan includes adding a two-story building on the eastern side and a one-story building on the western side of Renovo, 275 Bassett Road.
The project also will add parking spaces, both for visitors and for staff.
Renovo was completed and opened in 2007. The project will add 55,000 square feet on site and double the size of the existing facility.
In other commission business Monday at City Hall:
- Approved a favorable recommendation for the rezone of the property at 2818 E. Michigan Road for a proposed facility with contractor garages. Alt Development Holdings is proposing a multi-building (approximately 900 to 1,500 square feet per building) business to allow contractors a place to formally do business with office space and ample storage room. The property is being rezoned from Business General to Light Industrial.
- Approved a favorable recommendation for the rezone of the property at 789 St. Joseph Street (photo, below) after Attica Partners, LLC purchased the land from Blue River Career Programs. The former site of a gas stove manufacturing facility is still in remediation from land contamination. Attica proposes residential apartments for the site but must get the land approved for use by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. For that to proceed, the property had to be rezoned from Institutional to Business Neighborhood.
