Chevron Environmental Management Company has announced the return of tours and an open house of the former Texaco refinery property in south Lawrenceville.
The date is Wednesday, May 14th from 4:30 until 7 p.m. CT at Wishnick Park at 6th and Hickory Streets.
Those who attend will be able to take a guided tour of the location, which is currently an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superfund cleanup site. Options regarding a cleanup plan for the approximately 990-acre site are under review.
Tours will run continuously during those hours and there will be a picnic dinner serves at the park.
Chevron is also anticipated to announce three college scholarships to be awarded to Lawrence County students through the Lawrence County Industrial Council (LCIDC)
