The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office announced nine people were arrested October 3, during a multi-agency traffic and narcotics enforcement operation.
It was reported police conducted 112 traffic stops during the six-hour operation, with the Winamac Police Department, with K9 units from the White County Sheriff’s Office and Starke County Sheriff’s Office providing support.
Pulaski County Chief Deputy Seth Barton credited emergency dispatchers who handled increased radio traffic generated by the operation while continuing to provide routine services.
According to officials at the PCSO Dubbed 'Operation October Sky', the traffic stops resulted in nine arrests and 17 citations. Arrests made during the operation were for offenses that included possession of controlled substances, operating while intoxicated, reckless driving involving high speeds and an outstanding warrant from another county.
