Officials at the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office in Winamac are warning locals about a recent scam that's been reported several times in the area.
The scams are being carried by both phone calls and text messages, requesting money from family members to get their loved ones bailed out of jail.
A photo of one of the messages was provided by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office to show residents what to look out for.

Anyone who receives a similar scam phone call or message are asked to report the incident to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office at at 574-946-6655, option 2.
