In less than three years since adopting its Plymouth Forward 2040 Comprehensive Plan, the city is celebrating a major milestone — nearly 80% of the plan's objectives are already complete.
Ty Adley, the City of Plymouth Plan Director, announced the milestone to the Common Council this week, saying it reflects the city's continued commitment to advancing community priorities, supporting responsible growth, and putting the community's long-term vision into action.
"The milestone reflects the city's continued commitment to advancing community priorities, supporting responsible growth, and putting the community's long-term vision into action," Adley said.
The comprehensive plan serves as a roadmap for the city's future, guiding decisions about development, infrastructure, housing, economic opportunity, and quality of life, Adley explained.
"It's quite an achievement to make this much progress in such a short period of time," Adley said, adding that the city should take this opportunity to recognize the progress made toward the community's shared vision.
The Plymouth Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on the first amendment to the Comprehensive Plan at its November 4 meeting, beginning at 6 p.m. in the second-floor Council Chambers of City Hall. The amendment is the 144-page Plymouth's Northeast Transit-Oriented Development Plan that is available on the city's website under documents. The hearing will provide an opportunity for public consideration and input on the proposed amendment.
The Plymouth Forward 2040 Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2023.
