A trespassing complaint in rural Marshall County led deputies to discover a stolen vehicle Friday morning, resulting in the arrest of a Leesburg man who also had an active warrant out of Fulton County.

Just before 8:30 a.m., deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department responded to the 7000 block of Tulip Road for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with both the property owner and the suspected trespasser, identified as Kassidy Phipps of Leesburg.

During the investigation, deputies determined that a vehicle in Phipps' possession had been reported stolen out of Michigan. A records check also revealed that Phipps had an active warrant through Fulton County.

Phipps was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a charge of theft, a Level 6 Felony, and issued a $1,500 cash bond.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
