An Owen Valley High School student has been charged with possession of a firearm on school property.
On Tuesday, school resource officers were made aware of a social media post indicating Jordan Barley, 18, was on Owen Valley High School property and had a handgun tucked in his front waistline.
Officers immediately removed the student from the classroom and investigated. A 9 mm handgun was recovered from the front seat center console of the vehicle belonging to Barley.
Barley was incarcerated at the Owen County Jail on a Level 6 felony.
The Owen County Sheriff's Office says no threats were made to the safety of other students or staff.
